So I installed the updates, my computer's a dell XPS from last year so the graphics seem stable in the offline practice mode - although the installation has removed all my joystick button settings and the username/password from my log-in screen...
...I have those saved though, the problem is now that when I click 'online arenas', and re-enter my username/password, all I get is 'could not connect to host do wish to try the alt route?' and then 'could not connect to host' (via the alt route).
Any suggestions/advice/help would be greatly appreciated, like many on here I'm not a whizz at computers so it could be something simple, or it could be a bug with my system, which therefore probably means I'm stuck as I really know not very much about computers...
...thanks!
 :salute

Do you have any hardware (Routers, Modems, ISP's, etc...) or software (Norton Internet Security, Norton 360, ESET Smart Security, McAfee, etc...) firewalls between you and the HTC servers?

Did you also delete the Network drivers? Try reinstalling those. Also, all the connections connected? Last what is your power supply rating. Is it enough for the card and everything else?

Please note that you should download the networking drivers which match your networking port before removing its associated drivers. Otherwise you will be stuck with no Internet access.

Huh I used system restore to put my PC back two days hoping that then I could download the patch without deleting these mysterious neetworking drivers (I said I know not much at all about computers...!) and now Aces High won't run at all, so I'm re-installing it now, but I don't have much faith.
Also I noted that all my saved film files were either gone or not-recognised with the new updates, and it would have been nice to have some warning that this could be the situation before installation...
...this sucks! Just because I'm a nerd for flying WW2 aeroplanes online in a combat flight simulator (and stuff) doesn't necessarily mean I'm a computer nerd too, I hope I can fix this soon because I'd like to make some films with the new graphics, but if not, then I don't know.

New install. The graphics are fine, it's just this new patch has somehow disabled me from connecting to the server, I still have internet explorer, but now no Aces High except offline. Very frustrating especially seeing as I'm having no graphic problems with the new software!
Help!

Are you installing Aces High to the Program Files folder (C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\)?

Ahh I thought that may have been a quick fix then as I discovered that Aces High had been installed in 'C' not program files, I moved it but still get the instant 'could not connect to host' message when I try to go online, I'm assuming it's this 'network driver' issue (which I know nothing about) that's causing this - the new graphics look great in offline mode, but if I can't get this fixed in the next few days or so I'm going to have to cancel my subscription - lol by going to the bank as I can't access 'my account' through Aces High online.
Could anybody please tell me what I can do about this 'network drivers issue', I'm running Vista so that probably isn't helping but I mean I do still have internet explorer working. Computing is frustrating!
