You mean other than that the NS37 is an HE shell?

Iv turreted my share of panzers with the yak. Remember that most of the takes we have don't even have an inch of armor on the top of their turret.

Been awhile since I tried it since I mostly stick to dog fighting in my Zeke these days. Although I do know it will kill Panzers, Ostwinds, and basically anything but a Tiger. Might even be able to kill a Tiger but I was never that good. This was all before the Whirble was introduced though...

I know it can. According to a story I heard long ago (that I've never been to sure of), Hispanos had a one-off and killed a Tiger. I'd still rather have an AP or at least a mixed round to do it, though.

If you hit a 25mm steel plate from, say, 60 deg angle the effective thickness is a bit more than 25mm, of course, but there is also a greater chance of the energy being deflected away from the line of trajectory increasing the chance of ricocheting.

I'd also imagine cast armour and face hardened plate to act differently in such situation.

I have done the same thing(with Il-2  against tigers) looooooots of times without any effort. Pnzrs are pretty easy to cork with Il-2 but Tiger is "nuthing" :rolleyes:

Since the update to 37mm cannon, which was tour 105, you havnt killed one Tiger in an IL2. Not one!

Not under game name Zuum. Not in LW and I doubt any other war. You didnt even drop a bomb on them from an IL2.

IL2 vs Tiger scores by ZUUM starting with tour 103. 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0.

Boy Im getting tired of this nonsense.

I might be wrong but I think Zuum meant effect instead of effort.

So he was indeed saying that he hasn't been able to do what just happened in the film. Yep, I too discovered pretty quickly that NS-37 is very effective against Tigers and if Zuum hasn't, it really isn't the end of the world.
