Got a problem here that I need some help with

First off I bought an AMD based system that was my workstation at my old job for $50 with a widescreen 19 LCD monitor and a laserjet printer. Great deal since it is built on an ASUS M2A-VM with an AMD 64X2 5000+ CPU and 3GB of DDR2 800. I had a hand in telling them what I wanted at work but I had a cheap budget and none of my options included a separate video card which brings the next part to this post.
Anyway this rig now belongs to my 12 year old son and he is playing games on it like Supreme Commander and Ace's High. The built in video is really slowing this system down and I think that I can drop in a decent PCI-E x 16 card for cheap. Here is the card that I am thinking about to put in there...ASUS EAH4670/DI/512M/A Radeon HD 4670 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16

I have not messed around with built in video in many moons and just would like a little help in remembering some of the steps needed to install this card when it arrives in a couple of days. Anytime I have needed to help someone they were generally at the point of buying new hardware and starting over from scratch. Any help that you guys can offer me is greatly appreciated.

Delete the old drivers first, shut it down, and then install the new card. Last, install the new drivers. That's how I do it anyway.

Disable the Onboard Video in the BIOS then shut your system down. Install new card, start system install drivers. The go into the device manager and see if the old Intel chipset for the onboard video is there if so delete it. Then go into your program files and find the entry for the old video drivers and remove then from there unless there is a uninstall utility in the program files for it which I doubt.
