If you have V-synch enabled in the game or in your video card's settings it never will. V-synch keeps your in-game framerates in synch with your monitor's referesh rate. The only way to see framerates above 60 is to either get a monitor with a higher refresh rate, or disable V-synch. However you don't want to leave V-synch off except for framerate tests (causes weird reactions when the screen tries to refresh otherwise).
lol you don't know how many people i told that to yesterday :salute

Hey Saxman that is something I always have wondered about , as my FR never goes above 60 . I thank you for the explanation on this . And I will not adjust the V-synch to get higher frame rates as Aces High is not all I do with my PC . I currently get 55/60 FR and I'm ok with that , need a few very small tweeks and its all good .

I got FR's up to 300fps when I did testing, depending on which direction I was looking. :D
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

You should never let any applications FR go above your monitor's max supported refresh rate or you can tear your pixels and brick your monitor.

Running a game with V-sync disabled will not eventually fry your monitor or damage it, it can cause some graphic anomolies like tearing and the like.  Running your monitor at a refresh rate above the supported refresh rate will fry your monitor.

I would vote for a new MA arena that does not include scores. I'm certain this would would be a welcome addition.

Bad thing is if you believe this, you don't know the AH population. At least 75% of the people in AH play for score in one way or another. (On top of trying to win the never ending war) Those of us that don't worry bout it, are a very small minority anymore. :(

So here's a question:  Assuming your monitor can run at several different refresh rates, should you pick the higher number or the lower?

Not so much an issue with LCD/Flat Panel anymore.  With CRT you would have a slight flicker at 60 (noticable if you looked at monitor with peripheral vision) so I used 70 hz on CRT's.

I personally select the highest refresh rate my monitor can support.  I have a 19in widescreen with refresh rates of 60, 70, 75, 80, 85Mhz and I have it set to the highest at 85Mhz.  As long as you set it to a refresh rate the monitor supports, you should really have no worries.
