Been seeing alot of complaints about stuttering.
In another game, ram was an issue.  If you are running less than 1 gig of ram you aren't going to get around putting more ram in your system.
SWAP FILE - this is a debatable topic (which I won't go into length in here.)  Just google:  recommended swap file or recommended swap file for gaming and read a bit. Try some of the suggestions and fly fly fly.  Post if you get any good results.
And finally DEFRAG DEFRAG DEFRAG.
Run a good harddrive tester or checkdisk to find and correct any hard drive errors that will cause STUTTERS.
Start > run > cmd  type in :  chkdsk /f
reboot and let it run.  (this may take a while, esp if you have alot of errors)  If you find errors this might have been your problem.
Also, running a decent memory checker wouldn't hurt too.
Just a suggestion, worked for many in other games.  Especially if you are on the edge of the performance arch for this game.
