IF HTC says the sky is blue they will argue it all day, just because they know no other way to express themselves in a constructive manner.

The sky isn't always blue.

Sometimes it's grey on a cloudy day.
Sometimes it's red in the morning or evening.
Sometimes it's even a greenish shade before a major storm.
Every night it's black.

I can even tell you why.  Just because I argue the color of the sky doesn't mean I don't know how to express myself in a constructive manner.

You might want to try again.

The only really interesting question I have, is that I could have sworn that during the beta someone mentioned that the terrain would be optimized for low-detail mode after all the kinks had been worked out, though I can't find the post now. Is this still the plan? It seems like that would end a lot of complaints.

The answer is we have been far to busy looking for real issues to look into minutia of game play concerns that you are asking about.

HiTech

After reading this post that reason was the first to pop up in my mind. Quite common sense actually. I haven't been on AH for a year yet, but my impression is that HiTech is a perfectionist, and won't rest until he gets all of it right in accordance of importance.

If you read what I wrote you will see I didn't ask nor expected a quick and hasty response and was very grateful and cognizant of the hard work they are doing.

At #4;
That's just an issue with the materials for the terrain I would imagine, which if it's anything like the material files we have for skins ('he said foreskins hurr hurr') it's just a matter of dropping a couple of numbers.

What we have for skins is this;

0.259,0.259,0.259,Ambient
0.659,0.659,0.659,Diffuse
0.000,0.000,0.000,Emissive
0.1,0.1,0.1,Specular <------- Controls 'shininess'
50,Power

First it is a figure of speech, and pretty sure you know this. Secondly who said I was talking to you. Seems that if this post hit you that hard the shoe fit? If not then the purpose the this post is what other then to try starting an argument?

Perhaps you should try again..

I never said nor thought that you were talking to me.  It was a rhetorical argument stated simply to point out the fallacy of your statement.  No need in anyone getting their shorts in a bundle over it (now that was a figure of speech and frankly, one I dont even understand although I know what it means).
