San Diego trip
« on: June 24, 2015, 05:06:23 PM »
Tried, and missed, hooking up with MT (Bob) AGAIN!. One of these days... :)
This was our annual migration but stayed longer this time after the lacrosse tournament.
Here are some pics of the grounds of our inlaws, its a lovely place. They call it "The Orange Grove" but actually half of it is lemons and sweet lemons, and limes. They have insisted we park out Class A RV we plan to get in retirement on the property as they have a COVERED RV pad with FULL hook ups! We may end up living here 6 months out of the year. 30 min from the beach! 85 f  in the summer, 75 f in the winter! Why only 6 months out of the year? CA is one of the worse states for taxes when it comes to retirement.

(Pics below) Visited my favorite beer brewer/restaurant called Stone Brewery. Very cool place, almost park-like setting. They named a beer after me! Arrogant Bastard! :p

(Pics below) Went to Cabrillo National Park where the Spaniards first set foot in 1542 near San Diego. It overlooks Coronado Naval Base and San Diego. Took a nice 2 mile hike here in 80 deg weather. Very short but pleasant.

(Pics below) Our son played well as usual, his team lost in OT in the semi finals though. Good warm up for the East coast trip which has his team playing 4 games on Friday and 2 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
