always the same responses when someone asks about anti-virus progs........ everyone else thinks the one they run is the best

may as well ask what flavor kool-aid tastes best

(although everyone knows orange is best)

Actually, I don't use any on my personal boxes. I only rigorously test them for a publication and publish the results, and get paid by clients to deploy them to solve real-world problems.

I get all of these security products for free from the vendors' PR departments, and therefore have no interest in justifying "my purchase" by talking it up.

Finally, anyone who hasn't tried a version of Symantec products since the 2009 versions hasn't really tried anything remotely like the current product. Version 2008 was an improvement, and 2009 a dramatic improvement over previous offerings.

I use kaspersky and it has a game mode but i don't use it. Its a suite with the firewall and antivirus, its not free. But I like it, I switched from norton, because norton became to much of a load on my system.I just know of the older norton nothing of the new. There are several good products on the market, I like the all in one with a firewall.

AVAST is worse then norton IMO,yes its free, but it will run even after you shut it down and does interfere with gameplay. :salute
