And you should be.  No reason at all to be ashamed of your mother countries just because (as you said) "stupidity" runs the government.

Good!  You should be proud of your nationality.  I have no issue with a country with a great heritage and cultural.  However,  keep in mind that arrogant people like Chavez doesn't last long and times will bring his country down with him.
