Re-Booting
« on: August 09, 2009, 07:05:37 PM »
Hello
My Dad is having trouble where he tries to start the program and it reboots his system.  I know it is an older system but it was working pretty good after the 2nd update.  It is installed at C:/Hightech Creations
If you could let me know what needs to be done.

Thanks

Okay... Okay okay okay... Looks like there isn't too much RAM, that is probably the biggie. DXDIAG notes says to install the video driver provided by the manufacturer, Direct 3D funtionality NOT AVAILABLE, the problems is a mix of RAM and Video Driver, try to update and if your computer doesn't handle 3D very well, this game is heck to play. Try deframenting and cleaning up the disk, this will give up some loose RAM. Update and get the original driver back. <S>

Thanks Eagleclaw
I've got the video driver in and now have no problems listed in the DXDIAG notes.

Having Dad check on the RAM now.

Thanks again

BTW, if you have another computer of the same model and type of RAM, there is no reason why you can't just attach that to your computer as well, haven't actually tried it before but heard it from a friend who knows his RAM.

Ram can be interchanged between systems as long as each stick is matched exactly, doesn't have to be the exact same manufacturer as long as the specs match.

Correct, RAM is pretty easy to find, I had an old XP before this beauty XP and there isn't any reason I can't add the old RAM to this one, Im just too lazy to do it.  :lol
