The titanium "box" is being recycled, as are the other metals that composed a majority of the aircraft.  And, of course, to keep the Iranians from getting parts for the Phoenix missile systems.

I think it would be naive to think the Iranians don't have the capability to reverse engineer and produce 1960s and 70s technology. They do have a domestic aircraft industry after all.
