Could someone post some info about this plane (assuming that it's a Breda)? I thought I was at least somewhat familiar with most WWII aircraft but I don't think I've ever seen or heard of this one.

Italy had some of the nicest aircraft in the early to mid war years, but they had the Breda 65 too

Intended as a combo light bomber, scout, attack and intercepter(

), it excelled as an air to air target. Most were two seaters, but some were pilot only.

Speed: 255mph

Engine: one 1,000hp FIAT A.80 18cyl
radial

Guns: two 12.5mm and two 7.7mm mgs forward, one 7.7 for rear gunner.

Bombs: 300kg in bomb-bay, 200 under wing, but most often just one of the two choices.

Range: 342 miles.

And it was uhg-ly.

Thanks for the info, M.C.. The Italian flair for design certainly was somehow misplaced when this one was on the drawing board.
