I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes. Installing a driver (whether older or newer) over a currently active set of drivers is never a smart idea. Something, somewhere, at some point gets messed up. I'd rather be safe by removing the active drivers then installing the new drivers. In my opinion, it avoids a lot of headaches.

The only time you ever need to uninstall an nvidia driver is if you replace it with an ATI driver.

Not exactly. The Nvidia control panel doesn't always have to be uninstalled but the drivers don't always upgrade properly. It has always been recommended (for good reason) to uninstall the old drivers...reboot...use a registry cleaner or driver cleaner...then install new drivers. It has to do with the way the Windows installer system works...buggy like everything else in Windows.

Well Skuzzy I do mean to bust your bubble
I installed the update to Aces high Prior to that I had no problems
After the update the frame rate was pathetic
My CPU was pegged at 100 percent constantly
I went and looke dinto the Nvidia driver output log that I created an dfoun dthat the Aces high update did indeed make
a registry change into my computer.

There are any number of viruses or programs that can do this to a computer, don't think that just because you installed ACES HIGH that you didn't get hit by a popper virus or auto-site download virus. It is also possible that a different folder was chosen for the program to be put into other than the default. I would suggest finding the programs you know aren't supposed to be on your computer and wiping them out, run anti-virus scans, and as always after deleting items, defrag.

oceans11, I know a bit more about our installer than you do.

I ripped out your post as your deduction about your problems are so far off base all it serves to do is to confuse and panic people.

There is nothing in our installer than gets near the video driver.  There is only one registry entry made, and it points to where the game is installed.  If you do not want to accept that fact, and look for where the real problem might lie, that is your choice.  However, anymore nonsense about how our installer will corrupt a video driver will be yanked from the board as that opinion has no basis in reality.

The reality being, I know exactly how our installer works.  I am not guessing and you are.  You want something more plausible?

People who have profiles or who have forced various things off and on in the driver control panel are more likely to have problems with the new version, than those who used the defaults from the base video driver installation.  Has nothing to do with the installation of the game.  It has to do with how the game works versus the old version of the game.

DirectX also registers every application that uses it.

By the way, when the game runs, the CPU usage is supposed to be 100%.  Microsoft designed DirectX to do exactly that.  If the CPU usage is not at 100%, then you have something wrong.

Try the 66.93 driver, it was the only one that worked well on my old 6800gt. don't worry about uninstalling anything, just download and install.

This is very bad advice.  You can get lucky and not have any immediate issues, but you are taking a huge risk.  NVidia's installer does not cleanup old installations.

Skuzzy is correct, any number of things can cause any number of problems for the game you just have to fix or tweak to get it how you want it, 100 percent cpu is supposed to happen. Look at a few other posts and threads and you'll find that somewhere is the same problem you have and somewhere there is an answer to it, please do not try to diss HTC or the program, they know what they are doing and so do the people on the forum, listen to the posters and if you get a few +1s or agreements it is probably a safe bet.

Whenever loading new Nvidia drivers you should run one of a couple of programs.
One is drivercleaner
The other is this one
