I was wondering why there was a sudden mass of P38s attacking us...  :huh ...shoot 1 get chopped down by 5 others...fun stuff.  :aok

i use parts of my airplane. i throw little insignificant parts at first....like landing gear parts. if they don't deter ya, then i throw bigger things....like ailerons, elevators, wings.........

hell, i even tried my rear gunner flame thrower. that worked. the ki that was shooting at me turned off immediatly upon seeing my flamethrower.  :rofl :rofl

I wouldn't mind doing a few runs with you boys, I die on a frequent basis to 38's. Although I'm rusty and crap, I wouldn't mind a good laugh or two in finding out why I die to a 38 on a regular basis.

almost forgot........

one of the coolest things i've seen in this game.

the fight was getting very very close to a15....to the point that we could've vulched em if we wanted.

guppy comes up on vox saying we should back off and let them up.....which everyone did. then goes on open channel, telling them at 15 that the p38's are backing off, and that it's safe to launch there for the fight. ......

LMAO...I remember getting the very short end of the stick on those exchanges and it didn't matter what I brought to the fight...it was fun though. Hat's off to you guys.

That's what happened? I was so intent on getting some payback I wasn't paying attention to what was being said...I upped from 17 just so I could avoid the cap I thought you guys were gonna put on the field. Very cool that everyone backed off...  :salute

ya.......how can there be a fun fight if the guys we're fighting can't get off the ground, and up to speed? it's the 2nd time i've seen guppy suggest that........and i thought it deserved mention, as most squads or other groups would simply cap the field and rack up the vulches.

BUT what'd ya think of my right wing flamethrower? i was impressed with how quickly that ki turned off me when it lit up.

now if only i can find a way to turn it back off before my wing breaks off........... :noid :rofl

i think you got me a couple times last niht too.........i think everyone on the bish side there got a piece of my p38 last night at one point or another.  :D

Which VOX channel do you guys use? I love flying the 38 though I suck at air to air but not bad taking towns down. I really enjoy grabbing a couple of extra tanks and heading up into space searching for buffs.

The best thing about those kinds of fights is guys on both sides are remembering it's a game and having fun.  The BS'ing on 200 is respectful and the laughter on tac is constant.

During one of the fights a Spit lost most of his wing but somehow kept it in the air.  Even I can shoot down a half wing Spit, and as one who is always trying to stay airborne with a  broken bird, i can appreciate the effort he was putting in to keeping it going.

Soulyss and I took up stations on each side and escorted him back to 15.  He told us he crashed on the runway :)

I had poped his wing off and was coming down to form up on him when a P-39 shot me. That is the 39 yall killed before forming on the spit.

:aok Dan that's the kind of thing I'd like to see more of. Last night in Blue I had a fantastic 1v1 with Bosco in his G14. I hit his engine early but he hung in there and made a great fight of it. Out of nowhere some hero in a Spit16 comes in and picks him. I was disgusted I'd rather Bosco shot me down than to see him get picked after the great fight he put up.

I think it's the difference between knowing it's a game and taking the challenges it offers, and thinking it's "war" and having to win it at all costs.

I know there are plenty of folks who enjoy the challenges and hopefully if us old folks set the example, more will follow suit.

I'd very much rather die in a good fight, then live because someone else picked the guy who had me cold.  I know it happens often, and in a furball it's hard to know when to stay out and dive in too.  Last night was one of of those where the balance seemed to be working on both sides and it was a good reminder of why I keep playing :)
