Nor do I buy the "this ends poorly" argument.  If the CO is trusting enough to pass out that privilege to others and they stab him in the back, that is their problem not yours.  If it happens in your squad, I suggest finding a smarter (or more intuitive) CO.

Hate to quote myself, but....

You must have a read a different Mensa thread then we did.............. :D

 :x

And as far as I can see.......  He's not the CO anyways......  What does the CO say?

Yes, I am the CO.  Yes, I do trust everyone in the 80th FS "Headhunters" (which I am the CO of, omg?!) enough to give them all powers I have.  If they weren't this trust worthy then I do not think they would be in the squad in the first place :).  So, disregarding your personal attacks...

I know how to give people all the privs, that is because everyone in our squadron has invite/eject privs.  Right now school, aka REAL LIFE is in the way of me being able to log on and reinstate lost privileges if one of my squad mates changes their name or accidentally leaves the squad, or if we add a new person.  I think it would be nice if instead of me being the only one with this power, if everyone in my squad could do this as well as me.

I hardly think this is a disaster waiting to happen.  I will trust those I trust and you all can trust who YOU want, how does my squads distribution of power effect any of you?

Any questions?

edit:

what happens when the guy tries to eject the existing CO?  or edits his CO's priveleges?  :uhoh

I would keep the system that prevents people from ejecting the CO, if not for the only reason that I'm not sure what would happen with the mechanics of the game and the squad.  Would the next person on the roster become CO?  Would the squad disappear all together?

I fail to see how if I'm CO or not determines how my wish and I should be treated.

Unlike a few squads...... The 80th checks folks out before asking them to join.

In some cases it may not be a good idea but with the 80th it would be business as usual. Most of us would just forget the privs until actually needed. We have more fun hiding Mensa'a wooden peg leg. One other thing we do lately is bet on just who or what Mensa is looking at at any given time. That lazy eye of his has won me some nice change.

Blame Shuffler for the setup.  With squad mates like those, who needs enemies?  :devil

LOL I started the 80th and managed to sucker Mensa into taking over when I took a break.  He's just trying to find a way out of being in charge! :)

Mensa in that situation the best possible way out may be to disband the squad, have your XO or other person who is online a lot reform it.

But for many squads giving someone new the ability to clean out the roster and in effect disband the squadron would be disaster's waiting for a place to happen.  I respect where your coming from, but in my opinion the pro's don't out weigh the cons.

What cons?  I'm not asking for everyone in the squad to automatically have these powers upon joining, I'm asking for the ability of the CO to grant these powers.  You act like every new member to every squad in AH will suddenly have the power and means to wipe themselves out...

You said "But for many squads giving someone new the ability to clean out the roster and in effect disband the squadron would be disaster's waiting for a place to happen."  Well there ya go!  It's as simple as the COs of those squads only granting power to those they trust.  I don't see how something that is completely voluntary is a disaster.  If you don't want someone to use the feature, then don't assign them it.

This isn't something being forced upon people, their inter squad interactions will be exactly the same as normal unless the CO chooses for it to change.

Again, I don't see how what happens in another squad effects anyone else.
