Two resubmits... Knoke's 109G's
« on: August 09, 2009, 10:42:21 PM »
Submitted both of these a while ago... one got in and the other is waiting (15 skins already for the G-2)

In both of them I redid the panel lines and weathering (if you'd like pretty accurate panel lines for the Bf 109G-6 I can post them, the defaults are pretty off in places), some of the paint, mainly markings although some mottling was redone, most noticeably the crosses are the proper dimensions (if you want proper cross dimensions I can post those as well, as with the panels the defaults are very off).

First is Heinz Knoke's Bf 109G-1, 5./JG11. April/May-ish 1943 (soon after the formation of JG11) IIRC.This is the first aircraft used in air-to-air bombing of American heavy bomber formations.

Later in 1943, mid-summer, when II/JG11 was equipped with rocket-armed Gustavs. This is already in game with the ugliest shade of RLM 76 EVAR.

Nice! That self-shadowing is the dog's danglers. Time for a computer upgrade...

Niiiiiice.  I wouldn't mind taking that out for a whirl and catching some P-51 pilot napping.

Great work Bubi, whenever I fly a 109 I try to make it a skin of yours.
