Wasn't gonna mention it, but since the new patch I find that the game minimizes by itsself more often than it used to.  Not a big deal as it regenerates pretty quickly (2-3 seconds).  I did wonder what could cause that seeming that no other programs seem to be starting.  Any advice would be appreciated, if not no biggie. 

The game does not minimize itself.  If it is doing that, your computer is infested with some type of spyware/malware/virus that is asserting itself as the primary active application causing Windows to minimize the game.

Or you are hitting the dreaded Windows key on the keyboard.

The latter luckily I found can be solved easily with your everyday flat-head screwdriver.

You have me befuddled on this one. After minimizing is there anything on the screen? If you have some time could you let AH stand all by itself for a period of time and see if it minimizes?

Also is there any chance you are bumping a key or combo of keys that causes this?

With reference to minimizing the game.  Previously if I went to desk top with the game running everything worked dead slow.  Opening a word document or going to web sites and loading other pages from a web site like the forums.  When I came back in the game the game worked instantly.

Now when I go to a document / email / web sites / spell checker on forum they work instantly  as though the game isn't using all my CPU power.  However, when I come back in the game now, it's basically black and white.  Can take 3 to 4 minutes to fully load textures and colours.  I've found if I look up to the sun where I would usually get the highest fps the game loads in quicker. Haven't tried firing guns as others have mentioned but I'll give it a go.

I prefer it this way actually.  Freakin hated waiting for pages to load.  Now I can get things done as though the game isn't running.  It's a small inconvenience to wait for textures and colours to load back in and saves me lots of time at the deck top.  Just saying what the difference is after updates

I also noticed if I minimized my screen, when I bring AH back up it takes 10-15 seconds for all color to come back, I also noticed that base auto ack is firing to much higher altitudes, I don't know if it is suppose to do that, it made contact with my plane @ 8500 ft above the base and it set one of my bombers on fire.

The latest patch of AH must not have many issues left because we are back to the same discussions as before.

Same here, if i hit Windows key, most of the times doesn't recover,i get "lost udp", "host connection lost" msg . I was few times  in bomber formation, auto-climb/pilot and hit windows key, if it recovers i don't get my drones back,only 1 bomber recovers, the drones get vulched by matrix.
