Hey Mike!  Playing the guitar is great fun!!!  Learn the open chords, bar chords and scales.  You will want to eventually play with other people too.... learn how to play the blues....everyone plays the blues.  Good luck to you!

well besides the fact that was c maj as someone pointed out.  Practice everyday if possible.  You don't have to be like me and take lessons for going on 4 years, but if you can take lessons.  They help a great deal.

That's what I always thought too.

I case my guitars when I'm not playing them.... most of the time.

My Ironbird is a string-through with an adjustable bridge... It's never out by more than half a semi-tone after a week.

It's not too humid here, though.

Also, this will sound a bit silly, but I think that really paying attention the drums in your favourite songs will help your playing.

When you're driving, instead of wanking about playing air-guitar at the lights.... 'play' the drums.

If you can keep yourself in time with the drums without a guitar it's that much easier to do it with a guitar.

I can't play the drums because I hate them... but I'll bash away at my desk or steering wheel and keep good time.

I've found that my playing has become more and more solid since I've started doing this frequently.

If I had the time and space, I'd set up a drum kit to muck about on.

If you think about it, drums are the core of pretty much any music you'll ever play.... the comfortable you are with them, the comfortable you'll be when you're playing with them.

Drums without Bass is like...  lemme think

Eating a spoonful of Vegemite  (without spreading it on something)  :D

I'd rather play without the guitar or singer.

I hate not having a bass player

My Jackson Sl3 stays right in tune---a few very minor adjustments now and then.

My Gibson LP double cutaway stays dead on--no lock nut , and I do bend the neck quite a bit.

Still stays put.

Love that guitar. :rock

Guitars are like women.

One is good, two are better,...and it just keeps getting better after that.  :aok

The Dean's a beaut Stampf.

Those have been the most reliable to me in the 5 short years I've been sucking at guitar.

I used to have an Ibanez Roadstar with a floyd rose locking tremolo and nut when I was playing gigs and I could put a set of strings on it, tune it, bend em in a bit, retune it, go to practice, do a gig or two and they would only need minor adjustments on the fine adjusters, unless we finished off with the extended guitar duel version of foxy lady, then it would be lucky to even have strings on it.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

Yeah it was a typo, It's Cmaj.  Thanks for pointing that out.

I have 12 guitars, most with Fender vintage trems,  couple of floyds. There are some that seem to need to be retuned every few days and others that just hold tune with just a minor tweaking.
