Video Card & RAM question
« on: August 18, 2009, 08:06:58 PM »
I am still only achieving 15-25 (depends on action in area) FPS with the following settings in AH:

1024 texture with high res pack.
OD & GDR sliders all the right.
Disabled other planes skins.
Display Horizon.
All other settings are not checked.

Advanced Tab settings:

Detailed terrain enabled
Detailed water enabled
Bump Map Terrain enabled.
All other settings are not checked.

My video card is a ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro-PCI-e 258 MB RAM running at 500 MHZ.

MY PC:
MS XP 32 bit SP3
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2.33Ghz
2.33 Ghz, 2Gb Ram

More Ram?  Better video card? Different settings?  If you have any questions to get clarification please let me know and I will run the info down as quick as possible.

I'm willing to bet Skuzzy points to that video card and tells you to either replace it or get rid of the 1024 textures with the hi res pack and use 256...then turn off detailed water...etc...etc...etc...

Better video card (but don't bankrupt yourself buying one).

The ATI 2400 Pro was a budget video card when it was new in 2007.  It simply lacks the processing power to run with everything you have enabled.

Uncheck "Detailed Terrain".  See if that gets your computer back to a performance level you can live with.
