82FG/95FS "Judy Ann" of Lt. Charles E. Adams

The whole of the 82nd FG would love for someone to skin this.

As of yet i dont have a picture of the top of the wings just a profile and the noseart shot. If anyone could assist me in finding this it would be very nice.

As a '38 driver and skinner, I like to see the active '38 squads have at least one squad skin for each version of the Lightning if possible.

What is special or significant about "Judy Ann"?   IIRC I had started working on Ben Mason's "Billy Boy", also an 82nd FG 38J, but stopped for some reason and don't recall why...

Billy Boy is a 38J?

I just got what i could about a comfirmed 38J.

All we really want is a P38J to call our own, anyone will do.

I pulled it from here http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/298/3/7#31 which there source is: Source: Air Magazine No.40, Magazine bimestriel. Janvier/Fevrier 2008. Est une publication bimestrielle de TMA SARL.75 rue Claude Decaen - Paris 75012.  I think thats French  Going to take some research to find a real photo...Perhaps Dan will come along and assist

Do get a real photo for that one or other corroboration, that site is a wonderful starting place, but not the end all be all of "good references".

The Red tail birds would be J-25s or L-1s(J-25 being almost identical with leading edge landing light, power assist and dive flaps) The 82nd J models didn't have the colored tails. As time went by and the war was winding down there was more time for painting.  Think Spring/Summer 44 for the J models and Spring 45 for the colored tail L models.

Billy Boy was the one Oboe was working on and it was a J-15 but no red tail at that point.

If it's accurate, which I'm not positive on, it's a 38L.

Thanks Dan, once again I am impresssed by your vast knowledge.  In my own attempt to gain knowledge, I went to the library the other night looking for a book that had technical data of the 38 and other planes.  I arrived at our public library at 5:45PM, as I walk in I hear "your public library will be closing in 10 min".  Grrr..I grab a book called Fighters of WWII by David Donald (Big picture of a I-16, Ki84, 109, Hurri, and 38 on it) check out my books and rush home.  I open to the table of contents and find P-38 on page 161,  except on page 161 is thw Meteor :(. Wow, what a disappointment,  I guess I should have got Bombers of WWII!

Thanks again,

Nathan
