Future torpedo defense....

I'm going to look like a 12 year old here....  But was reading that bumped thread from way back about Super-Cavatation torpedo and reminded me of this..  
This is a trailer from an old Japanese cartoon being redone/rebooted..  For those of you not interested in watching the entire thing, please fast forward to around 6:09....

Not sure of the physics involved that would make this a possibility..  Obviously, this is some sort of energy shield...  But I wonder if this could be done with some other element (Air, Sound, liquid metal, compressed water???)??  Anyhow, it looks cool....  And I'm having a really good day today...lol   :D  **cough cough**

Reminds me of a really shiny X3 for some reason. :D

That show always made me go "lolwut?" though I've never gotten around to watching it.
