He was 18 when he joined 23 when he got sent to Russia for hard labor spent ten years in prison after the war.

Hartmann is my squaddie and he let's me die all the time.  I'm gonna talk to him about that.

I think I read somewhere that Hartmann had lost one wingman, possibly his first. Just because he was a complete 2 weeker noobie...

He agreed to wing with a recently converted bomber pilot who got in over his head and was forced to bail after he didn't turn hard enough to evade enemy gun solution.
