In terms of eye candy I would consider this cheap, anything that ran okay before should still be good to go.

Ostwind and Wirblewind now traverse at only 28 degree per second....

Now this will have indeed a big impact on gameplay...

"now the fleet itself has no defense from boats"

Sure there is.

Bomb em, launch your own boats against em or use the escort ships 20m or
40mm guns on em. sheesh.  5" prox shells are easy mode for the blind!

(and HiTech also said direct hits with 5" work)

Nice work on the pt boat! Looks great in the new water.

From my experience, if you're close enough to hit them with "standard rounds," you're already in a speck of trouble. You also got rid of the two effective defenses I mentioned. Since bombs are not (supposed to) explode if they hit water, that might be tricky.

Redesigned core game systems to quadruple the number of weapon hardpoints and damage items for future development and expansion.

Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

For comparison, what was the traverse rate before 2.15?

At 28 deg/sec, that's 12.9 seconds for one revolution.  I am trying to get a feel for it.

I can't wait to get off of work!   :rock

Interesting... now since we can see torps in water maybe the ships will start sinking more realistically soon.

Oh, man... that'd be great!  Instead of that wacky pitching up of 90 degrees, ships would slowly horizontally slide lower into the water.   :x

i just laugh when people think slowing down traverse is gona save them from osti/wirb. if ur stupid enough to be in
range ur gona die just the same.  its know how to lead the plane for shots, not speed the turret turns.

It doesn't change the lethality vs a single fighter coming straight at you, but...

Tag teaming a Wirbel will be easier when coming from different directions now. The Wirbel  gunner will have a harder time to turn his turret in time to get his guns on the second fighter.

Also when there are many very fast air cons very close to the Wirbelwind (typical horde deacking/vulching a field situation) the gunner will have trouble switching targets quick enough, also getting enough lead in front of a very fast & close target will be more difficult

So keep on laughing if you think turret roation speed does not matter at all ;)
