Didn't the Bf109F-1 and F-2 have an MG151/15 15mm hub gun?

If I recall correctly, the F-1 had not even the MG 151/15, but still the old MG/FF. the 151/15 appeared with the F-2. The F-4 (and re-equipped F-3) were the first ones with the 151/20.

I hate the F-2 in Il-2 1946.  Trying to shoot down an Il-2 with one of those things requires almost the entire 15mm clip.  It's no wonder many pilots preferred the 109E.

There was no F-1/R. And again, at the time the F-1 was introduced, the 109 still carried MG/FF's.

You (or your source) are confusing it with the F-4/R-1 - our F-4 with gondolas. But only very few of them were actually produced. The need for heavy firepower at the expense of performance came later during the war, not in 41/42.

I agree with the mollusk.  Show us a picture of a 109F-1 with gondolas.  I've never seen one.

You may be right. My bad

Ok give me that one then

Hell I know It aint gonna happen anyway. Just wishful thinking.
While I can still fly the hell out of our current 109F. From a maneuvering standpoint I actually liked the performance hit it caused it and was able to use it to my advantage.

An F4 with gondolas was a very rare bird, almost as rare as a 3-cannon La-7. ;)

240? I seem to recall the number "1000" thrown around, meaning the 109Fs left the factory with a wing capable of carrying the gondola, not that they actually did.
