1942 Pacific Air War - 1.08

I'd quite like to see themed releases as new patches after 1.07. I'm not sure there are that many planes left which could be added to a MA environment and would really enhance gameplay. A few yes, but not that many.

OTOH, a simultaneous release of a scenario planeset would be very cool. With AH's player controllable CV groups (a clear advantage over every other sim out there right now) I think this game is crying out for some PAC scenarios.

What would we need for a Solomon Islands scenario?

1942/3 - New planes: F4F, Dauntless, Val, Betty.

Modified planes: Early Zero, Early P38.

Other possibilities: B25, P40, P39 (the first two could be used in Med scenarios also).


Alternatively, for a Phillipines battle we'd need to add only the Ki84, B25 and 1 or 2 Japanese bombers, for a plausable battle. Purely on the basis of previous releases, this seems manageable for the HTC crew. As I recall, there was a fine Phillipines map released some time ago...

Oh yeah, a Shokaku-class CV would be nice too

I gotta say Vladd (YES even though theres no LW stuff) that this is a great idea.
I think one of the problems i find i have with MA is the uncertainty of where its going.As in late war or early , superplanes or common types etc, this sort of thing could help.

I would obviously vote for a rusian front release with stukas,t-34s,panthers GVs  
or even Battle of brittain version.

They should develop the early and mid war plane sets because these were the more interesting and 'evenly matched' battles that make good scenarios.

These boards have too much arping from Fighter Ace dweebs who want the plane sets split by country in the MA.  They will always vote to add the most advanced planes for 'their country'.

The AH crew has just missed a major marketing opportunity by not having any of the early war Pacific plane set.  They do build new planes for us at an amazing rate though and they certainly have the best game out there.

Not a bad idea at all...

Plus it may give the opportunity to add RNZAF/RAAF marked P-40's, Beaufighters, Sbd's, and the such.

Always a good thing
