Had the designers been taking pointers from the Germans?

Look at the curves, and surfaces, probably why HiTech and Co. have never attempted to model it, very challenging to say the least!

Hehe, you picked up on that didn't you?  I actually created this A/C on a Company Cadd system back in 1991 as part of a training excercise, it took about 16 hours of work...whereas when I created a SU17, it took about 3 hours.  I can't show you the picture though, since it would be a company violation.

If i get a chance (Many projects on the plate right now), I will try to find the old issue of Wings/Airpower I have that gives a pilots account of flying Night Interdiction in one of those over China. I mean, it is incredible that these guys had to fly at night with that technology, but now imagine flying OTD at night and actually flying 'BELOW' the power lines! I believe they were hitting rails (Locomotives) in the article, but it is really an incredible account of one of the many missions they flew back then. Maybe someone else remembers that article as well.

Since we don't have night in here anymore   , I will gladly settle for a P-61E

B-25 + P-38 = P-61

In all seriousness, that was the guideline for the project

Twin boom design w/ crew pod for gun concentration/rader location (the only way it could be worked) all worked into the B-25's dimensions.

Manuverable as that thing it's an enormous target, I bet it would suffer many front quarter shots

Bring it on!

I have always been in love with this plane.
AcesHigh would be a better sim with it.

It would be one hell of a challenge for HTC to model accurately with onboard radar (this would be very useful when ones country has no radar, an AWACS if you will), plus the gunner in the aft compartment would be a serious kick in the ass.  Would be a very odd plane in the arena however.
