Road movement bonus?
« on: September 24, 2009, 09:50:53 PM »
To go along with the "new/old strat system" debate, would it make sense to allow gvs to move at top speed only on roads? I guess it would imply having spawns closer to bad guy bases than they are now...

Or is such a thing even coadable?
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Been suggested before, and a pretty good idea at that.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Actually I think we are already getting it.

Whats not simulated is soft ground, grass, brush, adding increased drag, requireing lower gear.

I believe this to be truth.

Yeah, we get full speed while moving crosscountry, so there is no speed bonus to be had by staying on the hardball... The only way to get that road bonus, would be to slow the vehicles down while moving CC...
Of course, we would need roads that actually GO SOMEWHERE, to make it worthwhile, LOL!!!

I love the Idea of having terrain that actually has a realistic effect on vehicle movement... In far older "Tank sims" this is taken for granted... I think it is just an oversight in the game that comes from it being a pure "Flight sim" in an earlier life...

I stick around, because this game has massive potential... Taken to the limit, it could easily swipe all the customers in the different genres of the "combat sim world"... That would be a KICK!!!!
