BTW Zerstörer means Destroyer and was used for multi-engined fighters including fighter bombers, anti-bomber fighters, and night fighters.

Is it one of those modeler's books or is it historically oriented?

And you didn't answer my RC model photo troll.

And what do you know about the bomb bay.  Do you know for sure that it wasn't used or do you just not have any information about it.  I really want to know, I'm not just doing this to harrass you.

A-1 had lower fuselage bay that was used for Mw 50 and photo recce cameras, there were Dornier built experimental bays to show how a 1000lb or 500lb could have be lifted into the bay and secured.

Sounds good, I will buy it.

Also sounds like the Do 335 had "theoretical" bomber capability, kind of like the Me 262 did until they called Willy on his BS.

Nath:  I'm trying to figure out how the 470+ Do335 is supposed to outrun a P-47M doing 500...

About the same as P-80's or P-51H's. Hundreds more COMBAT sorties were flown by RE2005's and even the S.I.A 207 wooden wonder had more, all three of them that equiped 3 Stormo C.T. at Clampino and Cerveteri in July of '43.

I like the Twin Mustang better for looks and range in the night-fighter role.

There is a lot of good info on the Dornier 335 in:

Yep, the Kyushu J7W(1) Shinden. Two prototype birds, first flight in April (I think) 45. It had major flaws, vibrations from extended propshaft, torque related instability on takeoff, and general instability problems in flight.

The Ambrosini S.S.4 had a much more developed airframe and was the most sucessful canard of the war in useful flight "envelope". However it was underpowered with a 960 hp Isotta-Fraschini Asso XI R.C.40 engine, a type that was not fully developed. It used a dual canard to help with deep stall and pitch authority problems inherent in the canard design.

Good gun set for an Italian bird with one 30mm cannon and two 20mm cannon, all in the nose.
