Anyone playing or letting their kids play Battlefield Heroes?
« on: October 01, 2009, 12:37:14 PM »
Just wondering since my 13 year old asked me about it last night. He has a few friends playing there and I wanted to check it out first.

Yeah it's perfectly harmless.  Like a cartoon FPS.

It's not exactly the best for text - plenty of crude language / expletives from other players. Just an FYI.

done some beta testing, the novelty wears off pretty quick. The main reason I stopped was to be any good you needed to spend money on guns. Real money for cartoon guns.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

Thanks for the information but I will not let him spend money on things like that other than maybe a monthly sub on AH if he wants it. Someone has to use my flight sim gear.

It's free until he starts wanting special weapons.  At which point you say no.

I thought that EA wasn't going to do that.  Thought it was only real money for clothes.

Unless a game/server has a built in swear filter, any online multiplayer game is going to be subject to crude language, period.
