Yes. If the P47 that you were HO to was being chased by four friends and you shot..you probably hit a friendly behind him and shot yourself down.

on this...if you have this situation and you hit each friendly once...and for argument sake the left wing...do you then only register the one hit ? (presuming you are a crack shot and get the same spot on each)

Not really necessary to restart an old thread just to give me a hard time......Especially when I'm new to the game and don't know much about it. It  was an honest question on my part. When I said HO I meant that  we were "head to head."  Otherwise known as a merge........I had no initial intention of taking the head on shot.

In this case I was low/slow and the 47 was diving on me. He started firing at me first and it was just a reaction on my part. His  fire looked closer too me than it actually was until I looked at the film. The guys chasing him were not directly behind him. That's why I was so confused as to why I got shot down.

Again, how old is this thread and why did you feel the need to throw in the negative 2 cents?
I respect your opinion and the films you've posted to help others out but there's no need for that.

Constructive  criticism  is good.....anything else  is actually lame....

My guess as to why he may have posted....

He knew you where a new guy and as he is more of a vet who believes pure fighting is one of the better things to do in this game, used his comments to point out poor game play to start a conversation with you. Once he has your attention, you may learn from him that such a move is rather lame and that there are a number of better option that have could have saved you, or got you to a position to really have a fight.

Instead of asking question of one of the better sticks in the game you blow him off and give him crap about his post. So instead of getting help you get his post.

Of course, these are only what "I" think he may have been thinking.

This is a little silly.

Fugitive, if you read my last post Agent 360 and I are cool. I understood his last post, said "no problem" and gave him a salute. I realize he is one of the better pilots here. In my prior post I said I respected his opinion and appreciated his suggestions/films to others as they have been helpful.

In his post there was no suggestion on how to better fight someone, or anything other than me doing something "lame." Nobody needs to make a negative comment to get my attention, If someone reply's to a post I made they have my attention. He admitted he didn't read the earlier part of the thread I understood and said no problem.

I didn't get his post as a result of "blowing him off" or "giving anyone crap" I hadn't gotten any post from him prior to that. I said that it wasn't constructive.....

You're comments aren't necessary or appropriate if you haven't read/understood what's going on.

I'm sure he doesn't need you to think for him.

This is giving him crap. Had you looked back you would have noticed it was haggerty who bumped the thread.

A waste of energy if you hadn't planned on taking a shot...which you did hence the "killshooter" death Just getting skinny and giving the passing enemy as small a profile to hit would have been a much better option.

again a poor choice, one that a new player could easily turn into a poor habit

ahhhh look some more crap!

His criticism was constructive, as was mine. He pointed out that the move was lame as he again pointed it out in the second post.

Had you NOT taken offense at his post... which we know you did but ignoring the fact that 2 posters BEFORE him hand bumped the thread... you might have instead asked him how he might have handled the situation and there by learned something. Instead you got pissed off and posted as you did. Yes you backed down and feel you are good with him, which is ok.

My posting on the other hand points out that you acted a fool and blew off an opportunity to learn something from one of the better sticks because you let your temper get the better of you. Hopefully some other player may read this and learn by your mistake and ask instead of blowing up.

oh, and I wasn't thinking for him, I was posting what I thought he was saying in the post. Big difference.
