Why?
« on: October 18, 2009, 04:03:39 PM »
Why would my vidmem not load?  I haven't changed anything on my end and now it won't load (vidmem that is).  2 days ago I updated the driver to offer no help.  Game loads fine I even deleted the game and redownloaded it.  Should I remove the video card and reinstall?

COuld you be a bit more specific?  What do you meant your "videmem" will not load?

Last week the game ran fine I made no changes since then.  Started it up on saturday and was real choppy.  Like it was taking 2 sec for each frame to load.  So I updated my video card driver to the 191.xx with no help.  Not sure why I said that about the vidmem.  I also deleted the game and reinstalled to no help.  I have tried different video settings with no help.

Did you check the CPU usage, at idle, to make sure your computer has not been compromised?

Well just changed my setting to 1280x1024 and the game runs fine.  And yes I do check that stuff.  Have 24 processes running with 0% to 3% usage but mostly it stays at 0%.  I don't know never had this problem before...thanks for the help/listening Skuzzy.  Not sure why changing my resolution would help but I tried several of them and that one works so I am not kicking a sleeping dog!

If that is an LCD panel/monitor, you should be running the game at its native resolution.
