computer digital output to analog tv

 I have almost enough parts to build a computer. I am thinking of building 1 and hooking to my analog TV and stereo. I have a digital signal receiver converter, digital to analog.
Anyone know If I hooked a computer to a device like this it work work to watch movies on a analog tv?
I was think of just gettin a DVI or DSUB cable converter and plugging it into the tv but I'm not sure the picture would be correct( I don't think it would.)
I know they sell converters but thay are not very cheap.
Anyone have any input on running a computer to TV with the compter just having D-sub and DVI output connections. I wasn't planning on buying a video card for this project just a motherboard with built in graphics, I have the other parts I need sitting here.

If you mean an old tube tv by analog then forget about it. It can't cope with computer resolutions.

If it's a flat screen then it should work depending on make and model. For best image quality you need some tweaking most likely.

NTSC is 720x480...not sure many video cards support that output.

 I have kept searching the internet and changing my search paremeters. I finally found info, there are converters a person can buy. My TV is 4 and half years old.
 I am still wondering if I went thru the digital converter box that my antenna goes thru to my TV to change the signal. Then fix the rest by changing resolution and etc with the computer.
 I just don't know the difference between the digital airwaves and the digital from the computer and if it would work.( anyone know)
 The computer just be for movies and music and a backup PC. I have the extra parts  all I need is a motherboard, either sell the extra parts or use them.

The D-Sub connector on a video card is an analog signal, you know. I'm betting there's a D-Sub to "Cable"-Coaxial connector out there somewhere.

Running it through a cable box probably wouldn't work; they're designed for working specifically with the cable company, as far as I know.

ahh i didn't know the d sub was analog, theres dvi and d sub with intergrated video on the motherboard.Like ripley said maybe i could just tweak it.

Having done it in the past via a converter for a special project (an educational program), I can say that with certainty that you don't really want to.   What you get is a little better than Atari 2600-is to Nintendo 64-ish.  Most Windows programs would not even be able to function, due to the fact that most dialog boxes display a portion of the box off the right and bottom.  

I can appreciate the sentiment, but ... what you're asking is a bit like announcing that you need to make a trip to Hawaii, but can't afford a ticket - and since you have a bathtub, you want to folks to tell you how to plug the drain hole in it so you can paddle there in it.  

It's just not possible to achieve a reasonable outcome.
