K/D and Proxies.
« on: October 10, 2009, 10:23:12 PM »
I got 7 kills the other day and 2 of them were proxies.

When i landed i looked at my score and it said that my K/D was 7.0

Does it show proxies on the score but not accualt count them in considering rank?

For score purposes, proxies count as much as any "regular kills", i.e. they will increase k/d, k/h, k/s. The main difference in that regard is, that they give you only 1 score point (usually you will get hundreds of points for a "real" kill.)
However they do have the same category restrictions as other kills, so if those proxies were GV's towering out while you were flying in fighter mode, they are not counted for score.

What Lusche said but also confirming texastc's comment about no perks for proxies.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Forcing another aircraft to fly into the ground is just as valid a kill, going by both reason and WWII scoring practice.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

One of my all time favorite kills in AH was forcing a P-38 to hit the ground when I was flying a C-47.  It didn't just happen, I maneuvered with the expectation that he'd respond in such and such a way, resulting in an unrecoverable position for him, and he did exactly wanted him to do.

lol I was on the deck in a C-47 and was jumped by 2 ponies. They came right in and commenced trying to shoot me. I was able to make both of them auger after several turns. I think they were  both laughing as hard as I was. They both saluted. That was months a go but I remember it like yesterday.

Hey man, you almost got me with that in a low furball a week or so ago!  I was pulling hard and holding my breath trying not to nose in.  Got a good laugh out of it later.  Fun fights!  Afterwards, I think you even said something to the effect of "that was where you were supposed to auger" or other similar words.  Funny stuff.
