rgr.   We would have to reverse engineer the .res file to figure it out....  That would probably be going to far, i dare say.

What would be cool is a stand alone utility to build the .res file from a mission project.

HTC?

Asking sudz about the specifics of .res files, awaiting reply, I expect that it's above my head/'classified'.

As of now my program works except for the .res file.  If I don't know how to fix the .res issue then the instructions would just be:

1.Place program in your offmiss folder, run.
2.Open the created .mis in the AH editor and do File>Build Res Library.
3.You're set!

These would be changed if I use an installer.  It would go more like:

1.  Run the program.
2.  Open the created .mis in the AH editor and do File>Build Res Library.
3.  You're set!

The difference being that with the installer I will have it automatically put in the offmis folder, or let them set the path to their offmis folder.  Then create a shortcut on the desktop/ start menu.

However I wanted to bypass using AH's editor at all.  I'm not sure if I'll even release the program if it still relies on AH's editor.  If they have to open the editor to create a res file then why not just change the plane type while they are there?  Oh well, if anyone still wants me to then I guess I will.  We'll see how the .res issue turns out.

Looks like the .res file is the stopper.  An absolutely insane alternative would be to create every possible plane combination .res file and ship a library of them with the program, then call which res file depending on what the user chose.

I think I'd die of old age before I got half way done, :lol.  It was a good run and I learned a lot from the program.  If anyone wants it just for kicks let me know, I'm working on converting it to an exe.
