Perhaps I should have put an explanation in my caption? Tom Smith named his P-47 for his future wife Elizabeth (Lib). "Ole Miss" is the nickname for the University of Mississippi where they met. The photo above shows "Lib" sitting on the steps at "Ole Miss". Hope this helps answer you question.
