They do have a soccer team and they've just won their group, qualifying in style for World Cup 2010. (Bad news is that Charlie Davies will probably miss it after a car accident so they'll be short a striker most likely for it.)
They also played very well at the Confederations Cup a few months ago, beating the #1 ranked team in the world - Spain - and a few others. Not that every team at that competition was playing their first team though, including the US. Still, they held their own with the big boys, even leading Brazil in the final for a half before falling apart.
The World Cup might be fun this time around like it was in 2002. USA USA.
