How to modify .target?
« on: October 17, 2009, 01:31:38 PM »
Hey guys,

Anybody know how I can modify the offline .target so as to overlay an enemy plane? I kind of want to work on my dead six gunnery, that way I don't have to wait so long to take my shot.

Or alternatively, if somebody already has a .target with an appropriate overlay, that would be nice too.

AFAIK there is not a way to modify the graphics for the .target command, only the range.

That would make a great wishlist post; a .target that can be altered by the user.

Ahh crap. I remember mtnman's posts in the gunnery and 109 thread where he had an overlay - guess that was a manual overlay done after the fact (i.e., from a screenshot or something)?

Edit: never mind, it's pretty obvious all he did was go to external view with his plane flying straight into the target and take a screenshot. Also, I posted in wishlist.

you could use the Lead Computing Site to get an idea of the lead from a 6 shot

Yup, that's what I did.  I think I set the distance to like 0 or 1, so the front of the plane is actually in the target.  Then I took a screenshot from outside the plane.

Shooting and screenshots were done separately.
