LOL Juzz...you need a MiG17 to kill a C47 with some machineguns on the side of tha aircraft?

That photo shows the effect of a "Spooky" C47, a Dakota modified with 3 Gatling Miniguns.

No, but it's an aircraft from the same time that the AC-47 was operational.

Btw: "Puff the Magic Dragon" is an AC-47 nickname.

One of these too please

Only 528mph/44,000lb bombload, not too uber for AH.

Hummm...MiG17 is a 1954 plane, AC47 is a 1968 one...

If you want a 1968 plane take a MiG21

Sorry to bail in but to my (extremely limited) knowledge the AC-47 is not a 1968 but a 1965 plane. Then it was first flown and actually almost immediately used in combat. The idea of a heavily armed aircraft with side firing armament was already opted in the 20's though. Historynet.com had an interesting article about the AC-47/AC-130 programs, maybe it's still available.

Update: It's still available, just search for Spooky or AC-47. Actually the aircraft first flew December 15th 1964 and was used in combat right away! The setup was only tested before in the states on a C-131.

It's a shame it doesn't fit in AH's timeframe, but I'd except a beaufighter with an anti-ship gun or mossie with 57mm AT

Oh Jeez, if I only had a rearview mirror!

Bies

And bring the A26 and Hurricane (Mk IIC/D) to AH!!!
