You knew him Eagl?  Please accept my personal condolences to you if so.  My heart goes out to his USAF team mates in the 20th FW, his friends and family, especially his young one.

I cannot imagine what my life would have been like without my dad.

Thank you for your dedication, service and sacrifice Capt. Nicholas Giglio :salute

Fair skies and tailwinds forever.  :salute
Except when on final....

Truly sad to hear of this tragedy. What's even worse is having to explain to the children that their father won't be returning home. I certainly do hope the family remains strong and pulls through. It's never fun to see such an event completely destroy a family because one or all members of the family, "couldn't handle it."

Update - He apparently never had a chance.  The official word is that the impact was in the canopy area and he didn't have a chance to eject, so they're switching to a "recovery" operation.  Nick left behind a wife and young child.

while it sucks that we lost another hero, at least he went doing something he loved. he had the honor, smarts, cajones, and pleasure to be one of the few that choose to do their part defending the rights that we all enjoy.

Thanks for all of your responses and prayers.  Yes, I knew and worked with him, and our spouses were both active in the spouses group as well.  It's hit some people fairly hard, even though for us old guys he isn't the first friend and comrade who has been lost.

His squadron and wing at Shaw will be organizing the memorial service as well as ensuring that his family is taken care of, and we're going to piggyback on their efforts since he was here just a year or so ago.
