Not to mention being on someone's six and just seeing their head sitting backwards on their body watching you... creepy.  :O

If I recall accounts correctly, most WWI pilots carried a revolver.  Just in case they were being burned alive, they could end the pain.  English priests went as far as offering sticks a suicide reprieve.  "If you're being burned to death, the Lord already knows your soul is worthy my son.  Do not suffer, simply get to heaven faster."

Great Idea!!!  Blood streaming back from the cockpit after PW would be cool too!!  And how about flame gushing up from behind the instument panel, (being as the gas tank was usually right in front of your feet) and you can hear yourself shreeking in agony as you burn to death... :t     Cockpits were like a chimney for fuel fires!!!

Life and death of a WWI AVIATOR!!!

"WoooHoooo, this is gonna be fun!!!"

It is. And you're right about the 'bungee cord' - aerolastic cord was invented to provide lightweight suspension for early aeroplanes.

See you up there, I hope - cheers!

How about being able to Salute your opponent for a good fight  :rock  or shake your fist at him for a bad fight.  :neener:
