Really, really, big <S> to the skinning community!
« on: April 24, 2009, 03:14:04 PM »
I really didn't understand how much effort goes into skinning a plane, that is until I started playing around with it myself!

I would just like to say thank you very much for putting your spare time and effort into these works of art, it makes AH2 that much more enjoyable to play.

No real reason to thank any of us. I think most of us do it to give back to the game and community. I for one love working on skins, so much that I'm looking into making it into a career.

There's lots of ways to give back, if you can't skin for whatever reason.  e.g. the AHWiki could use even small additions.. There's no small progress when many add their small bit.

I used to be the graphics lead for a children's software developer.  It was hands down the most fun of any job I ever had.  To walk into a room full of kids sitting at desks counting to 10 with "your" animated dinosaurs*, singing and clapping, is a little hard to top =)

Go get it Larry!  Absolutely worth it.

I really want to get into doing skins, my only problem is I go to work and sit front of a G5 and use photoshop, illustrator and indesign all day. By the time my day is over I'm not really wanting to sit in front of a computer unless I'm blowing stuff up while enjoying yalls work.
