That was the best show...close second was Rat Patrol. Loved the 50's on those jeeps.

Gonna go against the tide here.  That was a gawd awful show that even the airplanes couldn't save.   I guess I'd been a history junkie long enough that it all made me cringe.

Combat, now that was a different story.  The writing on that show still holds up.  BBBS was like watching the Pearl Harbor movie.  I just couldn't do it.

EEEK!  Blashemer!

BBBS wasnt winning any awards for acting and it surely wasnt a documentary.  But comparing it to PH?  Dear God, man, have you lost your mind!?!?

BBBS - at least for me - was almost taken as a comedy.  Pearl Harbor made the Titanic (no pun) error of trying to take itself seriously in the face of so many "WTF" moments... like when you saw RRG-powered Spitfire running up years before their arrival...  I expect a bit more from a blockbuster Hollywood budget than I do a low-rent sitcom.  ;)

wow.

I am guessin it's a very good thing I never met Mr. Nonads ..er .. Conrad.

You gotta ask yourself if you are willing to allow someone to treat you like crap.

Personally .. there isn't enough money on this planet to allow a jerk wannabe to say a disparaging word to me,
..much less lay a hand on me without serious repercussions.

Security would earn their pay, not before some manners were hammered home tho.

I even watched it a little bit on the History channel in the late '90s and up until I'm guessing '01 or '02. I don't remember any specific parts, because I was little, but I did like the parts I did watch. Now, the 50's shooting out of the corsair look so much cheesier than I remember.  :lol

:rock

I find most of that really hard to believe. Not because I'm a fan of Conrad or anything, but the whole thing seems completely contrived and farcical. Standing at attention while being kicked in the nuts? Women standing around while a guy carries a box and sets it in front of them so another guy can climb on the box and fondle them? Written into their contracts? They built a half dozen 3/4 scale Corsairs? Seriously, the whole thing sounds like some sort of weird fantasy.

Read the thread that those quotes came from.  It was evidently someone's idea of a joke.
