VMF-512 F4U-1D
« on: November 08, 2009, 05:00:46 AM »
Lyric1 found this interesting VMF-512 website. There's some good photos of the squadron's Corsairs. I've picked "The Mad Cossack" to skin but there are a few other good subjects if anyone else fancies doing one.

VMF-512 flew a mix of A and D type Corsairs from the carrier USS Gilbert Islands from March 1945. This aircraft has the late war ID stripes which were applied from June or July.

A striking skin for a late war hog.   Your detailing with scratches, paint chipping, and grime really sets the standard.   Beautiful work as always, Greebo.

What, so it can't be seen against the sky? You are aware we have neon icons in the game, aren't you?  :D
