BF109 K14....How much, if any, combat did it see?
« on: November 03, 2009, 06:54:33 PM »
Having a debate with a friend of mine who says the 109 K14 saw service, had several confirmed kills and that 14 of them were made....
After doing 5 minutes of research, the intardnet tells me only 2 were made and never saw combat in the official capacity....
Anyone have anything to add??

From what I read up on it, it seems like the K-14 did not even make it out of the development stage

The only thing I can think up of is that he means the K-4 and not the K-14, besides that...hes wrong  :rock

Only thing I can find in reference to the K-14 was that it was supposed to be a high altitude variant of the K series powered by a DB-605L engine but none were produced and never left the drawing boards.

From what I found, it said two were produced and given to JG52..  Both were armed with 1x30mm through the prop hub..
But that's wiki and I've never found them completely reliable..  My modest collection of books has very little in(mostly saying is meant to be produced but the war ended before there was a chance)...
I guess it's up in the air..
