They did a great job of taking base 117 in orange (forget the map name). Then disappeared. So I figure they were doing another NOE. In the mean time I was wondering why they didn't hurry over to the base next to 117 on the same island and send a guy to take out troops at the vh base in the center. Would have been time before they encountered any heavy resistance. So I look around to see which base I would hit. There were 2 unprotected bases in the area with towns approachable from their original launching base. So I up to get a little altitude for the base I figure most likely. That base had the town approachable from the sea and the town was on the same side as the launch base. Would be a fairly good target. Then I saw the tell tale sign of an noe. A high plane comes over to disguise the hidden noe. I head for that base and alert everyone. Now that is definitely not the base I would hit with an noe from the launching base. To get to town they had to go over the base. I can only imagine how many hits they took. There were high hills guarding the base and town to the west as well. Even though I got there in a short time most of the mission had been killed. I'm sure some by base ack. So, as my title suggests, it surprised me.
So if anyone wants to explain why the chose a base like that I sure would be interested. You may have thought of something I haven't.
