It really stinks when the doctors get sick. I'm quite saddened for the families who now are searching for answers as to why their loved ones were attacked by one of their own.

They are reporting now that he was taken alive and that he was harrassed possibly because of his adherance to his faith. Hmm...

To the fallen...  :salute

I too offer my prayers for the wounded and condolences to the families of the fallen.  I'll never understand the motivation of someone who would do something like this.  I was in the military for 20 years, and considered my fellow servicemen and servicewomen as family.  God bless them, and God bless these United States.

Didn't find out about this until this morning.  :pray :salute to those killed and wounded by this coward.

Yes hanging is still on the books at Ft. Leavenworth as far as I know. He's a suitable candidate as far as I am concerned. The sooner the better.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Again, I'm not trying to get censored, but maybe the Army should allow their officers and NCOs to carry thier loaded side-arms on-base.  There's no way this guy could have killed so many trained soldiers if they'd had a chance to fight back.  They had to wait for armed civilian police to rescue them.

The shooter wasn't even a combat arms soldier.

Investigations are starting to determine if some of the wounded were caught in the crossfire between soldiers and the shooter.  Some initial reports have started to come out that some of the soldiers did return fire.

Quote
Officials were looking into whether some soldiers may have been shot accidentally by others trying to shoot the gunman. Investigators are analyzing "all the rounds, the trajectories, all the weapons, all the shots, where they came from," said Col. John Rossi, deputy commanding general at Fort Hood. "That will be determined by the investigators."
