Ahhhhh! a ditch, wait landed??

Was flying around A19 in Blue arena in an F4U trying to help capture. Checked my fuel 15 minutes into sortie to find I had 5 minutes remaining. I thought I can still fly a bit, cv is just off shore. Went in to strafe a PT boat heading for our carrier, but a 190 forced to break off. Checked fuel and saw I only had 2 minutes of fuel left. Looked for cv and realized I could probably just make it. Well, I was right about barley making it, just is was the wrong kind of barely  :lol . I watched in horror as I saw the rear of the Carrier fill my screen and I knew I was either gonna get a crash or ditch. After smashing into the ocean and sliding towards the carrier I knew it would be a ditch, but as I came to a stop I saw this...



As you can see in the text area I'm being rearmed and refueled. I .ef and I landed successfully.  :lol So, you CAN land successfully INSIDE a carrier!

Latrobe were you moving along with the carrier or you just skidded inside it and .ef'ed quickly? Nicely done.

I landed and stopped on tarmac yesterday. It said I ditched. Was not even close to the edge.... go figure lol.

Apparently all the parts of your plane in the grass around the runway totalled to more of a P-38 than the part you were sitting in on the runway!

Shuff are you sure that was a runway and not somebody's driveway? Maybe you pureed the blender one too many times.  :joystick:

First sortie of this tour I had to make an emergency landing in a Fw190 onto a friendly carrier.  Deadstick, wounded, and missing control surfaces (sitnorm), I came up short on final and slammed the back of the carrier.  The plane hung there a moment and then slid down the transom, remaining stuck to the hull.

Towered and got the land. (?)

The carrier was pulling me along with it. I sat there for a good 10-20 seconds observing the inside of a carrier, not sure where they keep all the extra ord and planes though  ;)

Nothing sucks more than the carrier being sunk as you are about to land or have just touched down especially with a pw  :(
