no mic/help?

Im a returning player, new to the recent upgrade to AH and am having trouble with my mic. While I was able to use it previously, this time around I get nothing. All my settings should be correct and I cant think of anything I did different.HELP Im running vista btw, if it matters.

Right click the speaker icon in the system tray and then select recording devices. Highlight the microphone you wish to use and then click on "Set Default" and then "Properties." Under Custom there should be a "Microsphone Boost" option you can activate and then under levels turn it up to an acceptable level. You can test the level by tuning the tuned vox radio to your user handle online and adjust the level as needed.
