I still wish there was another 1-2 party slots. It's absurdly frustrating to be constantly outnumbered 3 or even 4 to 1.

That is why I like my mage, he can handle 7 and even 8 to 1 odds without a scratch. Open up with blood magic, cast blizzard, decimate the few poor souls that emerge from the chaos with sleep and horror followed by a liberal dose of drain life and dark sustenance.

If I wanted those odds I'd go play in Furball Lake..

Not sure where you fly in AH, but generally, unless you're on the deck, outnumbered, or willingly let the enemy start at your 6 o'clock you'll rarely find anyone willing to engage you in a 1v1 situation.

On the other hand, they DID at least get rid of the more infuriating D&D rules from the Forgotten Realms game series (Baldur's Gate, NWN, etc.)

there is a mod that gives you two extra party slots but their portraits don't show along with the rest of the party but they do show up in the character and inventory screens.

I also would have liked to have been able to at least have one more party member so I could bring along either another tank or an off-tank character.  Use them to hold the mob in place while Morrigan just sits back and nukes everyone to death and with the hit points of the tanks and off-tanks, we'd be able to survive the friendly fire of Morrigan's nuke attacks.

Yeah, I know.However I believe there's also some potential game-breaking bugs with it, too.

One problem with combat is that unlike Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, there's no such thing as "choke points" in this game. No matter how narrow your position, enemies can just push right through you to mob your mages (which once you cast one spell, the ENTIRE horde is going to do everything possible to do just that. I once counted SIX of 8-9 enemies chasing Morrigan around the area oblivious to the tanks whacking them in the back) or encircle your party. It's like there's no flag that tells the AI: Character A is standing in position B, so Character C is unable to occupy that same space.

I think I already posted my Redcliffe example. I had myself, Alistair, Sten and Morrigan take a position on the narrow wooden bridge right below the mill. The bridge is LITERALLY three characters wide, and I had my three melee fighters standing shoulder to shoulder in the front with Morrigan at the rear providing fire support. It didn't matter. Enemies could just push through as if the three melee fighters didn't exist, even though my three melee fighters were pressed so closely together that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for a man-sized creature to slip through, much less one that has to contend with three armored fighters--one with a shield and two with 2H swords.

It's like they put so much thought into the strategic use of spells and talents, that they entirely forgot that a HUGE part of the strategy of combat in games like this is managing the terrain.

Is there a manual for Arcane Warrior unlock?......  I did the quest where you let the spirit out of the jewel and it did not unlock it. I  gooffed it up or something.

Seems like Ive found a Manual for every other specialty unlock except for Arcane Warrior.

Dragonscales seem like the best armor so far.

You have to be a mage to make use of Arcane Warrior. And I've yet to see one of my party members be given a specialization point on a level up.

Yes, my character is a Mage. I was asking if anyone has found a Manual at one of the stores. I obviously can not find one. I have found Manuals for Shape Shifter and Spirt Healer... Which i dont need. Morrigan showed me shapshifter. and cant remember i think Wynne showed me Sipirt Healer or i bought the Manual that unlocks it.

AFAIK all you need to do is free the one spirit, who will teach you how. Have you earned a Specialization point yet?

Thanks i went back and re did that part of the quest.  I had to have the spirit teach me before I put it on the alter....


Yes I have two specialization points.  I unlocked and spent one on spirit healer and one on Arcane Warrior.

going to have to beef up the dexterity points a little tho.

I had the black smith make the two handed star sword.   18. damage does not do any good if you cant hit with it. LOL
