Listened to all the pundits this a.m.(very unusual for me). Many said it was a terrible error, total lapse of thought. However, what happens if they make it and the patriots have 78% of the time from what I understand. Then it would have been what a gutsy move by Belichek (Spelling). Showed he had real confidence in his offense. Yeah he went with his stength etc.. Of course that didn't happen and they say the opposite.

Yes that is true that had it worked everyone would have been happy, but it didn't.  Also, I'm not sure if it shows confidence in your offense or a lack of confidence in your defense.  I suppose some combo of both.

What really bothers me about that play call was that on a 4th and LONG 2, (really should have been 4th and 3) they run a play designed to pick up 3 yards.  Why not make that route another step longer?  The angle the CB (or LB? don't recall) was coming in from, another step out would not have broken up the play.  Maybe the route was cut shorter than it should have been, but because of the outside receiver pattern I'm pretty sure it ran how it was designed.  Sure it isn't designed to have a bobble resulting in a yard short, but it seems a mighty large risk to take.

Ya if he didnt bobble it I think they would have given it to em. If you look at the replay the official is standing to the right of the marker. I think if he had been right on it he may have seen it as closer than he thought. My opinion is Bill lost faith in the defense, and rightfully so after 3 touchdowns in as many minutes. But like is usually is, its a combination of errors throughout that cause a team to lose that bad.

QFT.  Also, Bodhi not a booth review because it happened previous to the 2:00 warning.  I thought it was a very good spot by the sideline official, who had a perfect perspective from where he stood.  Exciting game, even though I could care less about either team.

Even in the event they replayed it. I dont think there was enough there to overturn the call.

Wow! Poor decisions on the Pats part near the end, two time outs wasted, and going for it on 4th down. Colts played horrible most of the game, dropped passes, bad passes (many) and they win.

Druski, you are right in that, but what I meant is that most everything is reviewed these days, why not review it.  Hell, the refs were off especially considering the defensive pass interference call, even the commentators said so...  It just ruined the end to a good game.

I don't think the Pats would have gone far with a 1st down, not with the way the Colts defense was finally clicking.  But the chances are that the time given might have let the clock run out, but the Colts did have timeouts left.  In the end, their double turnover failure in the endzone cost the Pats the game.

Oh well, maybe in the post season for the Pats.
